Kaplan Tutoring is looking for outstanding Academic professionals to help launch a new brand that will grow alongside a wide range of existing educational products and services within the Kaplan, Inc umbrella. Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Academic Manager, the Academic Specialist will ensure all students' have a well matched tutor and a positive academic experience. They will assist the Center leadership by continually improving the tutor placement process, providing real time support to all Tutors, and ensuring that customer service issues occurring via phone and in person are handled thoroughly and immediately. They will also be required to help promote and sell educational products and services to new and current customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Match every student both on and off site with a Tutor that matches their needs
  • Participate in the services provided to our members including parent communication, effective instruction and complete customer satisfaction
  • Work with the Academic Manager to ensure students meet and exceed company benchmarks for academic progress
  • Resolve all customer concerns via heavy phone, in person, and written communication
  • Analyze data to effectively manage various operational projects
  • Employ consultative sales techniques to enroll new and current members in Kaplan Tutoring programs
  • Effectively assimilate new instructional materials and methods
  • Ensure Center maintains appropriate levels of marketing materials and collateral
  • Perform basic office support and planning duties as needed by Center leadership

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree; excellent academic record
  • 1+ years of work experience in a customer service setting
  • Ability to enthusiastically work with customers for 7-8 hours every day
  • Knack for relationship building in person and via phone
  • Passion for fostering academic progress
  • Excellent organizational and multi tasking skills with the ability to handle numerous details
  • Mature problem solver
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Desire to work in an intense, fast paced environment
  • Enthusiasm for both customer service, academics and overall business growth
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
